"Found a Spot in Heaven"


Alice Ann (Rutkowski) Cieslikowski, age 76, a resident of Saint Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at UPMC Hamot, after a courageous battle with heart disease. Born in Erie on December 17, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Stella (Anysz) Rutkowski.

She attended Villa Maria College, and before retiring, was an Outpatient Registration Clerk at Saint Vincent Health Center. Alice was a member of Saint Jude the Apostle Church, where she attended daily Mass and volunteered for various duties. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to see her sons, watching her granddaughters play soccer, and most recently, spending time with her new friends at Saint Mary's.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. Thomas Cieslikowski, of New Britain, CT, and Ronald Cieslikowski, wife Jennifer, of Manchester, NH; two daughters, Teresa Cieslikowski, and Alicia Costello, husband Sean, all of Erie; a sister, Rita Mabie, husband Regis, of Erie; grandchildren, Alena, Becca and Amanda Costello, and Jeffrey Cieslikowski; an aunt, many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and may attend a prayer service there Monday at a time to be announced, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Jude the Apostle Church.
