John Kaye, age 91, of Erie, passed away, Thursday January 26, 2012, at St. Mary's Home of Erie East. He was born in Farrell, PA, May 10th, 1920, a son of the late John and Tylerand Sophia Maykowski Kacerski.
John served with the US Navy during World War II. He was owner of Pepperidge Farm Foods and past member of Lawrence Park Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Glecos Kaye, his second wife, Geraldine Bushley Kaye; four brothers, Edward, Casimer, Matthew, and Stephen A. Kacerski.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Teubert of Erie; two sons, Jerold R.Kaye, wife Nancy and Thomas J. Kaye; stepchildren, Barry and Bart Philip and Sandy Terry; grandchildren, Christopher, Alec, Hollianne and Tyler and 6 step grandchildren.
Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th, Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11 am, with Msgr. Joseph Wardanski officiating, at St. Mary's Home Chapel, 607 East 26th St.
