Walter A. Przybycin (2010-03-09)

Walter A. Przybycin, 92, a resident of Regency at South Shore, passed away Tuesday morning, March 9th at Sarah Reed Retirement Center, after a short illness. He was born in Erie on April 17, 1917, a son of the late Hipolit and Josephine Przybycin.

Walter served in the Army during World War II. He was a skilled machinist who worked for the Skinner Engine Company, and later for General Electric Company , retiring in 1980, after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed golf, tending to his small gardens and visiting with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Polish Falcons, East Erie Turners, and belonged to several other clubs throughout the city of Erie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sophie Zalewski, Mary Traczinski, and Dorothy Mozdy, and three brothers, Joseph Burke, John J. Przybycin, and Leonard Pry.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Cecilia Rogala Przybycin, and three children, Frank (Carol) Przybycin, of Erie, John (Mary Jo) Przybycin, of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Anna Marie (Paul) Koscelski, of Grayson, GA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Christopher Przybycin, Carrie Williams, and Kara and Aubrey Koscelski; three great-grand children, Xavier, Sebastian and Thomas Przybycin; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th at Greengarden Boulevard, on Thursday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm and Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm and are invited to attend a prayer service there Saturday at 10:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Andrew Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
