Herman P. Giannamore, age 87 years, a resident of St. Mary’s Home of Erie East, passed away there on Friday, March 12, 2010

He was born in White Valley Pa, June 6, 1922, a son of the late Joseph and Pasqua Savocchio Giannamore.

Herman graduated from Tech Memorial High School. He worked for 42 years as a machinist and in the stock room at a local factory, retiring in 1984. He was an avid sports fan, he volunteered for the west side Sr. Citizens, where he called bingo. He was a member of St. Andrew Church, had served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of its Usher Society. He was also a Knight of Columbus 4th Degree and volunteered as a Red Coat at Saint Vincent Health Center.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Rudolph and Virgil Giannamore and two sisters, Elvira Chiota and Mary Giannamore.

Survivors include his wife of over 64 years, Adeline Corapi Giannamore; his children, Gerald Giannamore wife Susan, Michael Giannamore wife Karen, Joseph Giannamore and Jeanne McLaughlin, all of Erie, Armand Giannamore, wife Jacqueline of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Frank Giannamore wife Debbie of Elk Ridge, MD, and Paul Giannamore of Erie; one brother, John Giannamore wife Arlene of Cincinnati, Ohio. Fifteen grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the A. Brugger & Sons Funeral Home, LLP, 845 East 38 Street, Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend services there on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Church. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
