Dosha (Thomas) Salyers, 88, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at her residence. She was born on November 19, 1928 in Jackson, KY, daughter of the late Hayden and Julie (Spencer) Thomas.
Dosha was a wonderful remarkable woman who enjoyed reading, quilting and had several classes on furniture building and repair. She had an uncanny knack for looking at a project, designing it in her mind and then physically building it herself. She had a pact with her husband that he took care of the exterior and she took care of the interior. She was truly a remarkable woman and an even better mother for her five children.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Roda Steele and son, Elmo Salyers.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Salyers; sons, Bill Salyers and his wife, Debi of Geneva, FL, James Salyers and his wife, Mary of Geneva, FL and Paul Salyers of Erie; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
