        Joseph Valentine Chromik, age 82, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Manchester Commons. Born in Erie on April 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Valentine and Frances (Gwizdz) Chromik.

        Joseph served in the National Guard. He was a master plumber by trade,  owned and operated Joe Chromik & Son Plumbing, and Collector’s Corners.  Joe was an avid chess player, member of the Erie Chess Club, and a long time bowler at Eastway Lanes.  He was a member of the Polish Falcons Club, and a life time member of the Polish Sharpshooters Club.

        In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jeannie Chromik.

        Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sandra Love (Smith) Chromik, whom he married October 11, 1958; six children: Christine Rodriguez, husband Pablo, and Joseph Michael Chromik, girlfriend, Maryann Biernik, all of Erie, Susan Boesch, husband William, of Fairview, Marlene Clement, husband Mike, Robert Chromik, and Raymond Chromik, wife Jen, all of Erie; nine grandchildren: Teresa, Paul, Justin, Jared, Tristyn, Alexander, Michael,  Josh, and Ethan; three great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Isabella and Sydney; a sister, Rita McCallum, husband Dennis, of Rhode Island; and many nieces and nephews. 

          Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, East 12th and Wallace Streets, Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial at a later date will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 E. 38th Street.
