          Kathleen Marie Jaskiewicz, age 47, a resident of Erie Homes for Children and Adults for 47 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at UPMC Hamot.  Born in Erie on August 13, 1969, she was the daughter of Vincent and Joan (Capozziello) Jaskiewicz.

          Kathi enjoyed participating in activities at home, crafts, taking trips, and the companionship of her friends.

          In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Brenda (Jaskiewicz) Loader, husband Chris, of Erie; a niece, Courtney, and nephew, Jordan; several aunts and uncles, many cousins; and her family at EHCA.

          She was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew, in 1967, and a sister, Anita, in 1996; her maternal grandparents, Angeline and Vincent Capozziello, and paternal grandparents, Virginia and Vincent Jaskiewicz.

          Joan and Vince would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to past and present members of the EHCA board, administration, and staff, for the many years of caring for both Kathi and Anita.  It takes special people to care for special needs people. You are all angels who will be rewarded in heaven.  You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

          A special thank you to the caring staff of the MICU at UPMC Hamot for your excellent care.

          Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and may attend a prayer service there Friday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
