With great gentleness, our Blessed mother Mary took Sharon Bruno M. D. Home to be with our Lord Jesus on Monday, April 9, 2018. The celebrated feast of the Annunciation of Mary. Sharon was born on June 2, 1966 and is the beloved daughter of the late Nicholas and Rosemarie (Tatara) Bruno. Treasuring her memory, she is survived by her brother David Bruno, wife Mary of Rochester NY, and her sister Denise Simora, husband Dr. Antonio Simora of Erie. She further leaves behind four nieces and a nephew, Angela, Gabriella and Antonio Simora (Erie), Sophia and Isabella Bruno (Rochester). All for whom she holds a special place in her heart. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Knowing that from a young age, she was going to try to cure the world, she dedicated herself to learning and set her goal on becoming a physician. Sharon graduated from Our Lady's Christian elementary school and Villa Maria Academy high school. She went on to earn her B. S. Degree from John Carroll University and achieved her goal of becoming a physician at the University of Cincinnati Medical school graduating in 1992. Dr. Sharon M. Bruno completed her residency in family medicine at St. Vincent Health Center.  She has served, with grace and compassion, her patients in the Erie community both at McClelland family practice and Grandview family practice.

To know her was to love her. Sharon's zest for life was infectious she made you want to travel with her on the "numerous roads on her blessed journey"

A blessed journey of humor, love, kindness and compassion, of devotion to family and friends and to her faith.

Her faith and devotion to Mary is what made her who she was, a woman of great strength, integrity, compassion, truth and mostly love. Sharon belonged to Saint Andrew Church where she was active on parish council and with the Ladies Guild. She was proud and honored to also serve as a eucharistic minister there.

Sharon loved her family and friends and patients, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them. But like many she longed for a sanctuary, a place of refuge, a place in nature to come together to enjoy and find peace and rest. She found her sanctuary at Cook Forest, one year before her illness. It became for her the most beloved place to be. She found her peace there.

Sharon was blessed to have a devoted extended family who share her love for the forest, they will treasure every moment spent there, the McCormick, The Boxer, The Tome, the Van Cleve and the Homan family's.

Our dear Sharon will be sadly missed by her loving family, but she will live on in each one of them, her lessons flow through them, Denise's love and devotion to family, David's attention to detail, Angela's care and compassion, Gabriella's understanding of faith, Antonio's athleticism and dedication, Sophia's thirst for learning and Isabella’s grasps of Sharon's quirky humor. A little bit of Sharon will live on in everyone who has shared the numerous the roads on her blessed journey.
