          John A. Cambra, age 69, of Erie, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital, in Pittsburgh, Monday, January 7, 2019. Born in Erie, September 15, 1949, he was a son of the late John J. and Dorothy (Dovichow) Cambra.

          John worked as a union laborer for Laborers Local Union 603 from 1978 until his retirement in 2010. Prior to that, in the early 1970s, he worked for Erie Strayer Co.

          John was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting & fishing. He was always there to lend a hand when someone needed it. He was a “Jack of all Trades.” He loved remodeling and building things. He always said, “Nothing is impossible, it might just take a little longer.” He will truly be missed by many.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Cambra, his brother, Scotty Cambra, and in-laws, Jack & Mary Cada.

          He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean (Cada) Cambra; four children, Jack Cambra, Brian Cambra, wife Stephanie, Cassandra Cambra, and Zay Cambra, all of Erie; five grandchildren, Nate, Austin, and Kyle Cambra, Lily Johnson, and Lexi Cambra; two sisters, Dorothy Cornman, and Geraldine Maras, husband Gary; two brothers, Michael Cambra, wife Colleen, and David Cambra, wife Mary, all of Erie.

          As per John’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to gather at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd., Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
