         Harry Charles Howe, age 80, of Erie passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Erie Veteran Affairs Medical Center.  He was born in Windber, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1938 a son of the late Charles and Elvira (Harris) Howe.

          Harry served in the United States Navy.  He worked as a heavy crane operator for Carrara Steel until his retirement.  Harry was a proud union member of operating engineers, Local 66.

          An avid outdoorsman, Harry enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He liked shooting pool and was a Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Erie Saints and Villa Maria basketball fan.  He was a founding member of Our Lady of Peace Church and an active member of VFW post 470.

          Harry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marian K. (Tutokey) Howe, his children, Harry C. Howe, wife Christine of Erie, Patrick Howe, wife Nancy of Erie and Susan Howe of Harrisburg and grandchildren Andrew and Megan Howe.  He is also survived by his siblings, James Howe, wife Loretta of Kylertown, PA, Suzanne Askey of Morrisdale, PA, Charles Howe, wife Joan of Hawk Run, PA, and Patrick Howe, wife Ruth Ann of State College, PA and many nieces and nephews.

          Friends are invited to call on Friday from 5 until 9pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Blvd.  A service will be held there on Saturday at 1:30 pm followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Peace at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full military honors.
