     Lawanna M. “Lou” (Nagy) Cavicchio, 89, of Erie passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She was born on January 3, 1929 in Boswell, PA, daughter of the late George and Justine (Sabo) Nagy.

     She was a graduate of Harborcreek high school, class of 1948. Lou was employed as a clerk at Kline Department Store for 25 years at the Liberty Plaza.  She was active as a Girl Scout leader in the early 70’s. A member of St. Paul Church, a chairperson of the church’s Columbus Day Dance, Evening in Venice Dance and NALC Branch #84 Committees. She enjoyed puzzles, watching the news, cards, bingo and her weekly shopping trips to Sarah’s attic.  She loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends.  She was best known for her potatoes augratin, lasagna and Hungarian goulash.

     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldo L. Cavicchio; brothers, George, Frank, Lewis and Julius Nagy.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Cavicchio and Diane Dennington (Danial) of Erie; a son, Aldo Cavicchio of Erie; grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Dennington; sisters-in-law, Sarah Cavicchio, Yola Leone and Orie Iesue; several nieces and nephews.

     Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service at the funeral home on Monday morning at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Paul Church at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  Condolences to www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com

     Lou’s family would like to thank the great Doctors and staff at Allied Urology Associates and Nephrology Associates.  They would also like to thank the staff at Sarah Reed Senior Living for her care during her residency.
