          Raymond E. Peterson, age 81, of Erie passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at UPMC Hamot.  Born on June 8, 1937 in Erie he was a son of the late Edwin L. and Rose (Malanowski) Peterson.

          Ray was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served on active duty as a Physician Assistant as well as the United States Army Reserve where he worked as a hospital administrator.  He graduated from Gannon University with a B.A. in Business and later earned his master’s degree.  He worked for Nestles Retail as a salesperson for many years.

          Ray was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Church.  He was a member of both the Elks and Siebenbuerger Clubs.  Ray also served as a scout master for Boy Scouts as well as the president of the Commodore Perry Kennel Club.

          Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Jacqueline L. Peterson and a brother, John Peterson.

          Survivors include a daughter, Valerie Quinn of Erie; three sons, Eric Peterson, wife Sherri, of Dalton, PA, Kirk Peterson and Scott Peterson both of Erie; 9 grandchildren, Becca, Bella, Amelia, Caleb, Bobby, Jennifer, Andy, Lukas, and Kristoffer; his loving partner of 11 years, Lois M. George; a sister-in-law, Pat Brown, husband Charles; a cousin, Gary Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

          Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd.  Services will be held there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th St.  Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
